GWTFlow uses CoverFlow-like effects for navigating through photos. Currently you can view photos from Flickr, but it's designed to support other image services like Picasa Web Albums. The article, which I co-authored with Ed Burnette, gives a hands-on look at GWT development using GWTFlow as our sample application. I love it. Have a look here. Make sure you slide your mouse over the picture and see it changes. Here's the description from Apple. It seems to me it's just plain html and a whole lot of javascript, including scriptaculous and sproutcore library. I have no experience developing a theme for gallery, but it would be awesome if someone would port the .Mac web gallery as a gallery theme.
